What does the Waverley Learning Commons look like?
It is flexible. Mobile furniture can be arranged to suit different groupings and uses. Table space, floor space, comfortable chairs.
It is hi-tech. Mobile devices such as chromebooks, iPads, and tablets are available. Personal devices are welcome. SmartTVs allow for interaction and sharing.
It is a makerspace. A dynamic space. Students explore, invent, and learn. Activities can include: arts, Lego, green screen, found object construction, science/math/language themed kits, hacking, rebuilding, stop animation, coding, and robotics. Students create and solve problems in a collaborative environment.
It is welcoming. Students come to read for pleasure, to play strategy board games, to do classwork. They tinker and create, relax and unwind.
It is accessible and inclusive.
It is available every day, all day.
